I have also read that the body is designed to retain weight while breastfeeding and I do have friends that found they lost weight when they stopped. A few years ago in my 30s I lost about thirty pounds just by severely restricting those two things, and adding in a simple ten minute Pilates routine every day. However I found this impossible to maintain long term, so after two years of constant exercise and never eating anything fun, I let myself gain a bit more.
